    Founded in 1998, the Bureau for Institutional Reform and Democracy GmbH is a privately owned consulting firm committed to providing high-quality advisory services and technical assistance in electoral support, institutional reform, good governance, democratisation and conflict prevention.

    BiRD maintains a database of over 2000 affiliated consultants based worldwide. Our permanent staff and associated experts are professional political scientists, sociologists, economists, anthropologists as well as legal, electoral and public and business administration specialists.

    Their project experience spans anglophone, francophone and lusophone Africa in addition to Latin America, Central Europe, Middle East, Balkans and Asia. BiRD also works closely with a selection of local experts and organisations, thus offering a dynamic human resource base for the design, implementation and evaluation of short- and long-term projects.
